Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing procedure used to enhance and define eyebrows by using a sterile, handheld tool to create small, hair-like strokes with pigment.
DAYS 1-2 Healing Process
• Touching the microbladed area except when applying aftercare ointment.
• Scratching, picking, or peeling the microbladed area, as it can cause scarring and/or color loss.
• Applying any makeup, moisturizer, lotion, or sunscreen to your eyebrows.
• Sun exposure - sun tanning - salon tanning.
• Laser or chemical peels, and any other form of exfoliation.
• Exercise - participating in sports and activities that induce perspiration.
• Long, hot baths or showers - jacuzzis - saunas - swimming.
• Applying any creams to your face or neck containing retinol or glycolic acid.
• Engaging in tasks like heavy household cleaning where airborne debris can become prevalent.
• Drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, as it can cause wounds to heal slower.
• Transportation in open-air vehicles where strong wind is likely, for example; driving in cars with
windows down, convertibles, motorcycles, bicycles, and boats.
Things to Avoid:
You’re only going to apply the microblading aftercare ointment once on the day of treatment and once the next morning. After that, do not apply any more ointment and keep the microbladed area completely DRY for approximately 10-14 days until your scabs are fully gone.
How:
Use a clean finger to apply a small amount of the microblading aftercare ointment to the microbladed area once on the day of treatment and once the next morning. Do not apply the ointment unless the area is dry. Less is more when considering how much ointment to apply; the amount applied to each eyebrow should be comparable in size to half of a grain of rice.
Some discomfort may be felt during the procedure, but most people describe it as a mild sensation similar to getting your eyebrows threaded/plucked.. A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure to minimize any discomfort.
Microblading typically lasts for 18-24 months, although it can vary depending on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Touch ups should be every 6-9 months.
The initial appointment can take between 2-2.5 hours, including the consultation and numbing time. The “perfecting” touch-up appointment is usually required 6-8 weeks later, which typically takes around 1-2 hours.
It's important to note that not everyone is a good candidate for microblading. People with certain medical conditions or skin sensitivities, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women, may need to avoid this procedure. It's always best to consult with a qualified microblading professional to determine if this procedure is right for you.
Before your appointment, you should avoid alcohol, aspirin, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications for at least 24 hours. You should also avoid waxing, threading, or plucking your eyebrows for at least a week before your appointment.
You should avoid wearing makeup on or around the treated area for at least 10 days after the procedure. Once the area has fully healed, you can resume wearing makeup as usual.
During the healing process, your eyebrows may appear a bit darker, thicker, and more defined than you were expecting. You may also experience some scabbing, itching, and flaking as the area heals.
Depending on the style that's best for you, the cost of microblading ranges from $550-$600. This price is based on years of experience, professionalism and level of customization.
